Peta

Via Peta
Costa Serina

Description

This is a very beautiful, evocative old neighbourhood. It was probably a place where the goddess of prayer was worshipped (from the Latin petere = ask, petition) thus “pèta”. There was a fine inn for merchants on routes connecting Venice and Switzerland (Via Mercatorum and the Priula road). It is now the home of a community dedicated to helping people in need. An agritourism supports the project and also takes care of the mountain and its natural heritage. Raising livestock and making cheese reinforce the connection with the land. Many people use this place to meditate and contemplate, to rebuild their strength. The Church of the Reconciliation, housed in the former stable, is an intimate, peaceful oasis.
