Description

The fore-summit with the “Maurizion ferrata” is the 1900 m high peak east of Mount Croce, part of the calcareous massive of Mount Alben. Viewed from the north, this peak is recognisable by the 2 large spurs with deep channels climbing pyramid-like to the imposing towers at the peak. The mountain side is wild and often too inaccessible for climbing. The ferrata first follows the large plateau on the right then climbs up the tower walls. A simple crest, interspersed with small peaks, leads to the usual route, that climbs up to the Forca at the top of Mount Croce. It is only accessible with the appropriate ferrata equipment, i.e. harness with safety kit, helmet, gloves and trekking shoes.
