Church Of Annunziata In Blello

Via Papa Giovanni XXIII
Blello

Description

The church of the Annunziata is reached by a mule track that is about a twenty-minute walk from the inhabited areas. The sacred building is located at the top of the mountainside. The construction of the first chapel dates back to the 16th century.

The bell tower and rectory were added to this nucleus in the 18th century. Signs of later extensions are the dates 1708 and 1714 on the side rose window and at the base of the bell tower. Some roof finishes in local stone recreate the atmosphere of the original building. Inside, there is a painting of the Annunziata with St Bartholomew, the patron saint of the parish.
