Valle Brembana in bloom: the most beautiful trails among alpine meadows and high-altitude panoramas

Between May and June, the valley transforms into a mosaic of colors: from the rhododendrons of the Flower Path to the meadows of Carona, a journey through the most spectacular places to admire the blooms of the Bergamo Orobie.

Among the most evocative itineraries of spring, there is undoubtedly the famous “Sentiero dei Fiori” (Path of Flowers), one of the most beautiful nature trails in the Bergamo Prealps. The stretch connecting Mount Arera to Branchino Pass offers, between June and July, spectacular alpine blooms with expanses of rhododendrons, gentians, primroses, and rare botanical species typical of high altitudes.

The trail crosses panoramic slopes and high-altitude environments dominated by the silence and the limestone rocks of Arera. An ideal starting point is the Oltre il Colle area, ascending towards the Capanna 2000 refuge and the Branchino Pass.

Carona and the high-altitude meadows

With the arrival of June, the upper valley around Carona also fills with blooms. The trails towards the alpine lakes and refuges cross meadows dotted with buttercups, wild daffodils, and rhododendrons.

Among the most beautiful itineraries:

  • the path to Lake Prato
  • the ascent to the Twin Lakes
  • The path to Rifugio Calvi

The area offers spectacular views among pastures, streams, and alpine dams still fed by snowmelt.
