Sant'Antonio Abate Parish Church

Via Sant'antonio, 25
Sant'Antonio Abbandonato

Description

A small chapel dedicated to St. Anthony already existed in the year 1400 in the Castignola contrada but a new parish church was built in 1887 on the wishes of Bishop Guindani. The frescoes in the vault were painted by Umberto Marigliani. The Ceresa painting, the S. Antonio Abate con S.Giovanni Battista e S.Lorenzo altarpiece and Abramo Spinelli's Sacra Famiglia altarpiece were moved here from the old church. Gaetano Perarda's Via Crucis was added in 1940.
