Description

This itinerary takes place on a long stretch of the ‘Path of Flowers’ which is one of the most interesting naturalist itineraries of the Bergamasque Prealps. From Camerata Cornello, Orbrembo, the route leads you through the hamlets of Dossena, the area of the old mine, Serina and Oltre il Colle, all the way to Zambla Alta and Plassa. This stretch not only offers truly beautiful views of the surrounding mountains but also the Tree Cathederal, which merits a stop.
Through various stetches of woods and short unridable parts you reach first Saba Mountain Lodge and then Capanna 2000 Mountain Lodge where the Path of Flowers begins and as the name suggests, in June and July you can admire countless blooms. The second part of this itinerary takes place towards Passo (mountain pass) Branchino and offers charming views of Lake Branchino which is where, on the opposite slope from the mountains shelters of Mezzeno, the long descent begins.
As you arrive at the head of the valley you pass Roncobello high up and then traverse its hamlets; Baresi, Bordogna and Cantoni. Near to the Sanctuary, Madonna della Coltura you re join the Brembana Valley cycle path completing this ample loop.
