The municipal territory of Olmo Al Brembo is crossed by the Via Priula, almost entirely on a path, except for the stretch within the town where, among other things, it intersects with the Via Mercatorum and the Via del Ferro. From path 127 A, the route of the Priula descends to Cugno di Sotto and then reaches Olmo on the right bank, and after leaving the branches for Val Mora, it crosses the main town and then begins the ascent of the Valle di Mezzoldo along the path on the right slope, already shared with the Via del Ferro, touching the plateau of the Sigadola mid-slope.

Historical Track

«At Olmo al Brembo new work was carried out to modify the route of the existing path that, before this settlement, ascended to the hamlet of Frola, then descended again and crossed the old bridge that was already traveled in the center of town to cross the Brembo. The new Priula route, on the other hand, was built along the river, arriving at the Olmo bridge by a flat and convenient road that bypassed the plateau downstream of Frola. Arriving at the Olmo bridge, the road forked: on the left was the road to Averara along the ancient route of the via Mercatorum, which led to the Albarino pass (San Marco pass) through the Mora valley. To the right the ancient road, the one that Priuli would replace, led with a steep climb to the beautiful district of Sigadola, which still exists today. From here it continued with abrupt ups and downs, keeping at a higher altitude than the river, crossed the Valle del Chiuso, touched the hamlets of Casa Vassalli and Casa Bonetti to arrive at the Parish Church of Mezzoldo from above. The variation of the latter route adopted by Priuli was significant: keeping flat and in frieze with the Brembo, the strada nova was carved into the rock along the route that roughly mirrors that of today's State Road 470. It then moved toward the orographic left of the Brembo on the ancient Piazzatorre bridge, already existing in the 15th century, which was modified and widened when the Priula road was built.».
