In the territory of Zogno, the tourist itinerary and the hiking itinerary of the Via Priula have some common stretches. The gallery variant of the SS 470 has indeed freed part of the road traffic from the town. Furthermore, the cycle-pedestrian path, with the latest developments, is getting closer to the historic center which, due to its attractiveness and accommodation possibilities, must be included in the route. In this case, it is also possible to align the historic route with the current proposal.
Historical Track
«The road continued, with gentle ups and downs, into the plain of Zogno, then crossing the built-up area (today Roma, Cavour, Vittorio Emanuele II, Piazza Italia, and Mazzini streets). Outside Zogno, the Priula passed under the portico of the sanctuary of the Madonna della Foppa, a building that opened the doors of Zogno to those descending the valley. It continued with a challenging climb, reaching the hamlets of Tre Fontane, with its porticoed little church, and Tiolo. In these two locations, the trace where the Strada Nova ran can still be seen above the current State Road 470. Towards San Pellegrino, the road climbed, crossing the Lavello Valley which, as Captain Da Lezze also reported in 1596, was the border between the municipalities of Zogno and San Pellegrino.
