From the Fratelli Longo Refuge (2,026 m), the trail ascends in the direction of the striking Devil's Lake, crossing its dam in a spectacular setting dominated by dark waters and severe peaks. Beyond the dam, the trail tackles a steep slope that leads to the scenic Passo della Selletta (2,372 m), one of the highest and most scenic points of the itinerary, from which there are sweeping views of the Orobic valleys.
Just beyond the pass, the trail bends to the right (while trail 248 continues to the left) and begins a pleasant descent through high altitude pastures, touching on the Armentarga huts. Continuing in an easterly direction, one crosses the wild and picturesque Val Camisana, an open and silent environment that accompanies the walker in a dimension of deep immersion in nature.
Near the Poris huts (1,988 m) you cross the Brembo river, then intercept path 225, which, followed to the right, leads in a steady course to the Fratelli Calvi Refuge (2,006 m). This stage represents a very satisfying moment of the walk: the hut, surrounded by a grandiose alpine scenery full of water, is an ideal stopping point and one of the symbolic places of the upper Brembana Valley.
