From Piazza Brembana continue along Via Fratelli Calvi, gradually entering an increasingly mountainous setting. Crossing a characteristic portico, path 129A begins, winding its way through a quiet, green setting, leading to Olmo al Brembo. Here you reach the bridge and continue along Via Portici, where the charming Via del Ferro, an ancient historic road in the valley once used to transport materials, begins.
Following trail 105, the path accompanies the hiker through woods, rural cores and traces of local history to the hamlet of Pozzolo, via Cugno. Past the hamlet, on the right is the path leading to SP6 in the direction of Cassiglio. Reaching the village, you meet the Church of San Bartolomeo, a landmark of the hamlet; from here, follow the scenic lake road that descends on the left, skirting the waters in a very quiet atmosphere. Past the lake, continue along the road until you locate the signs for Trail 101, which marks the entrance into the heart of the Western Orobie Alpine Trail.
