The itinerary starts from Orio al Serio airport, from which you take the comfortable cycle path that leads directly towards Bergamo. After crossing the underpass of the train station, you reach Piazzale Guglielmo Marconi and continue along the elegant avenues Papa Giovanni XXIII and Vittorio Emanuele II, until you arrive at the historic funicular to Bergamo Alta.
Here the visitor can choose whether to ascend comfortably by funicular or on foot, walking up the picturesque Salita della Scaletta to Porta San Giacomo. Once in Città Alta, the route crosses the old town along Via Gombito, past stores and ancient buildings, to Largo di Porta Sant'Alessandro, where the funicular to San Vigilio is located. Here, too, it is possible to choose between the funicular or a leisurely ascent on foot along Via Sudorno and Via San Vigilio, gradually immersing oneself in the greenery and views that anticipate the naturalistic experience of the walk.
