From the Rifugio Laghi Gemelli (1,961 m), the path continues in a high-altitude environment, initially climbing towards the Passo di Mezzeno, crossing a landscape dominated by alpine lakes, pastures, and sweeping views of the surrounding peaks. This section represents the last grand high-mountain landscape of the trek, characterized by profound silence and authentic atmospheres.
From the pass, the long descent begins, following trail 215, which gradually leads to lower altitudes, alternating between open stretches and wooded areas. The path then crosses trail 217, which subsequently becomes trail 272, known as the "Sentiero dei Roccoli" (Path of the Bird Traps): a striking route that winds through beech forests and ancient stone structures once used for bird trapping, a testament to the valley's rural culture.
The path leads to the hamlet of Baresi, from which you can easily proceed to Roncobello, a populated center surrounded by the greenery of the upper Brembana Valley. This stage marks the definitive transition from high mountain to valley landscape, offering a gentle and panoramic finale, ideal for concluding one of the most fascinating traverses of the Orobie Alps, amidst nature, history, and alpine traditions.
