Beyond Rifugio Dordona, the Western Orobie Trail continues through one of the most striking and scenic sections of the entire traverse. The path crosses wide, grassy basins and gentle high-altitude undulations, reaching the picturesque Trout Lake. This small body of water, nestled among pastures and silence, is ideal for a brief contemplative stop.
The path continues towards Montebello, traversing an open and bright environment that offers wide views of the surrounding valleys and the main peaks of the Orobie. The route alternates between relaxing stretches and gentle ascents, always maintaining a strong panoramic character, until reaching the Passo della Croce, a natural pass that marks an important crossing point between different slopes and landscapes.
From the pass, with a gentle and continuous descent, the path finally leads to the Rifugio Terrerosse, nestled in a vast and captivating alpine landscape. This stage is particularly appreciated for the variety of scenery crossed and for the harmony between lakes, pastures, and ridges, offering the hiker an intense yet balanced experience, perfect for enjoying the mountains in an authentic and fulfilling way.
