The Path of Sun and Senses is one of the most fascinating routes in Costa Serina, a municipality located at about 900 meters above sea level in Val Serina, in the heart of the Bergamo Prealps. The path begins in the characteristic hamlet of Trafficanti, a small rural community that still retains authentic atmospheres and green vistas of the surrounding mountains.
From here, the path, which largely follows the ancient route of the Via Mercatorum, gently climbs through sunlit woods and areas rich in flora and fauna, offering an immersive experience filled with the scents, colors, and sounds of nature. Along the way, you'll encounter the historic “Leamàgn” springs, sources of clear water created centuries ago by the local inhabitants, precious testaments to a farming past characterized by ingenuity and respect for the environment.
The path then leads to the charming settlement of Nespello, a compact and evocative village where time seems to flow more slowly. After passing through the inhabited center, the route continues on a gentle descent along a well-maintained road, bordered by an ancient dry stone wall, until it reaches the locality of Ruspino, where the splendid 15th-century Romanesque church stands, an architectural gem immersed in the tranquility of the mountain landscape.
Beyond Ruspino, the path is enriched by a pleasant paved section that accompanies the walker on a constant and scenic climb towards La Péta, a location now known for hosting one of the most renowned farmhouses in the Bergamo area. Here, nature, history, and rural traditions blend harmoniously, making this itinerary a perfect walk for those who love to discover the most authentic essence of the Orobie valleys.
A path rich in sensations, enchanting landscapes, and historical testimonies: a true journey among the senses and the light of the mountain.
