Baita Nembrini is located at an altitude of 1730 meters, at the foot of the steep northern wall of Mount Alben, and is managed by the C.A.I. Valserina subsection. It is dedicated to the memory of Carlo Nembrini, a mountaineer who died in the Bolivian Andes during a recovery expedition. He was the lead climber and, after having already brought the body of a French climber's guide back to base, he lost his life the following day while attempting to complete the operation.
The starting point of the hike is Zambla Pass (1270 m), at Crocetta Pass, where you leave your car. Continue toward the Conca d'Alben until you meet the signs for trail 501, which climbs toward the southwest. The trail begins in the woods and reaches Col dei Brassamonti (1755 m); from here the route traverses the head of Val Piana. A little further on you leave the main trail, taking a short detour to the left that leads directly to the hut.
