From San Pellegrino Terme, Pizzo di Spino can be reached either from Frasnadello (trail entrance in the small square, on the right) or from Pregalleno, going up the Pissal valley, which can also be reached from Valcumina. The two trails rejoin at Valcava, where a dirt road from Santa Croce also arrives.
From Valcava continue to a saddle near a hut. Here there is a choice of two nearly level trails that go around the two sides of Corna Camozzera (1050 m) and rejoin to join the firebreak that follows the ridge to Pizzo di Spino.
The ridge section is particularly spectacular: a trail that straddles Val Brembana and Val Serina, with open views on both sides. The area also lends itself to loop routes, ascending from one side and descending from the other, thanks to connections with trails in the Santa Croce area.
