A fascinating multi-day hiking itinerary that departs from Orio al Serio airport and takes the traveler from the urban heart of Bergamo to the spectacular alpine landscapes of the Brembana Valley.
The route passes through Città Alta, with its Venetian walls and historic funicular railways, before plunging into the greenery of the Parco dei Colli and the Maresana woods. Continuing north, one encounters villages rich in history such as Cornello dei Tasso, an ancient medieval trading post.
The path then enters the heart of the Orobie Mountains along the famous Western Orobie Trail 101, giving high altitude views, pastures, alpine lakes and numerous mountain huts where you can enjoy mountain cuisine and stay overnight.
The itinerary is designed for moderately experienced hikers, but it is flexible and can be organized in several stages, allowing you to experience the area calmly and authentically.
An ideal experience for those who wish to combine nature, culture, food and wine, and wellness, with the possibility of return via public transportation or along the valley's charming bicycle path.
