Itinerary Gerosa ~ The Three Beeches

The final destination of this trail will repay you in terms of nature when you reach the plateau that serves as a pedestal for the majestic and harmonious three centuries-old beech trees, listed among the monumental trees of Italy. The fronds of each merge into a perfect intertwining of branches that in winter weave like capillaries reaching for the sky, while on warm summer days their green canopy offers us extensive, cool shade under which we can relax.
No less interesting is the departure of this itinerary that we reach by passing the village of Gerosa for almost a kilometer in the direction of Blello, just after an aqueduct keeping to the right the arrows indicate the direction of CAI path 592D that passes next to a rustic that was one of the four ancient mills dating back to the end of 1500, a few tens of meters further on we can see some ruins of another mill, the path continues along stretches in the woods and pastures skirting some large stables some still used for sheltering cattle , continuing the winding path through the woods, we come to an obvious fork and take the direction to the left indicating Tre Faggi, after about half an hour's walk we reach the stupendous and well-preserved roccolo di Piazzacava of eighteenth-century origins lying on a plateau that is supported by high and imposing stone walls and heading north we take CAI path 571 that will take us after about 40 minutes to Tre Faggi.
