This ancient historic mule track, one of the most well-known and loved by the people of Selvigno, was once traveled by numerous pilgrims who ascended to the Sanctuary of Perello for the annual festival. Today, it represents an ideal walk for families and visitors of all ages, thanks to its short, flat, and completely green path. The starting point is located near the new Sports Hall, from where the trail gently enters the woods, accompanying the walker in a quiet and relaxing environment.
Along the route, you'll find two equipped rest areas, perfect for a refreshing break: the first at the picturesque Cantor spring, the second a little further on, where your gaze can open up to the valley and its lush vegetation. Before reaching the springs, looking upstream, you can observe the ruins of an ancient “cusiner,” the stone kiln once used for lime production, a precious testament to the life and trades of the past.
The path, which winds along the road to Salmezza through the head of the Valle del Cantor, finally leads to the Sanctuary of Perello, where a restaurant is available for refreshments during the summer season. It is a simple yet charming itinerary that allows you to combine nature, history, and spirituality in a pleasant and rejuvenating walk through the woods.
