This loop tour is an ideal itinerary for those who wish to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the Manzo valley, a sunny basin characterized by open meadows and a privileged view of Serina and the surrounding mountains. The second part of the route offers an additional surprise: the descent to the Serina stream, which allows you to discover up close its springs and the pristine natural environment that surrounds them.
From the square in Serina you start pedaling toward the town, following the signs for Lepreno. You pass the locality “Cinque Stalle” until you reach the source of the Manzo, the point where the most challenging climb of the itinerary begins: an asphalt road that, with a constant gradient, leads up to the Al del Mans farm, immersed in a charming rural setting.
The climb continues for a stretch more, until you reach an isolated house in the woods. From here a path between ancient dry stone walls starts, introducing the steepest part of the trail: a short ramp to be tackled even with a few pushing steps. This leads to the junction with CAI path 598A of Monte Gioco, a vantage point from which the view opens onto the splendid Corone district, one of the most striking places in the valley.
After crossing the nucleus of houses, the trail descends on a path that bends to the left along a wooded slope, leading to a sheep-track that reaches the Serina stream. After crossing a pretty little wooden bridge, you reach the village's sports facilities. The last few meters, pedaled through the historic center of Serina, allow you to close the loop with a touch of authenticity and alpine atmosphere.
A pleasant and varied itinerary, perfect for those seeking views, nature and the calm of the small side valleys of the Bergamasque.
