Mount Poieto, which rises about 300 meters above the village of Aviatico, is a popular destination for families and groups because of the large grassy plateau at its summit, where there is a hotel-restaurant, picnic areas and a playground. It is an ideal destination for a day outdoors, easily accessible and suitable for everyone. The proposed route is simple, with a mixed bottom between dirt and asphalt, and is presented in a loop version that allows the best appreciation of the different slopes of the mountain.
The route begins with the so-called Periplo del Poieto, a medium-length itinerary with a mostly flat profile. After a short initial climb, the path develops in a pleasant and regular manner, alternating between dirt and paved sections and offering relaxing views, ideal for an immersive but affordable walk. Continuing along the path and climbing gradually toward the summit, we finally reach the characteristic panoramic chapel, from which a truly unique 360° view opens up, with panoramas ranging from the Orobic Pre-Alps to the plains.
