A008 Aviatico - Fondo - Al di Albe - San Rocco is an itinerary of medium difficulty, short but very rich in historical, cultural and scenic cues. The route alternates between unpaved and paved segments, making it suitable for walkers who want a pleasant and varied excursion, without sacrificing the discovery of the area.
Departure is from Aviatico, where the trail passes through the charming low village, a small rural settlement that still retains its original historic layout with courtyards, stone architecture and panoramic views of the valley. Just beyond is the historic Dogana Veneta, evidence of the ancient administrative and commercial border that once regulated transits across the plateau.
Continuing toward Fondo and then along the road that leads to the huts of Al di Albe, the path plunges into a relaxing natural environment, among open meadows, glimpses of the Suchello ridges and small groups of peasant houses. From here the trail continues to the quaint little church of San Rocco, nestled in the quiet of the forest, a place of devotion and a popular vantage point for locals.
The itinerary also passes by the house where Giacomo Manzù, a famous sculptor from Bergamo, stayed, adding an interesting artistic and cultural note to the route.
