Vetta Poieto is one of the most welcoming and scenic destinations in the Bergamo Pre-Alps, a natural balcony overlooking between Val Brembana and Val Seriana. Reaching it is easy: just follow the paths that start in Aviatico or take the cable car up, which in a few minutes takes you to the heart of a grassy, wide and bright plateau. As soon as you arrive, the atmosphere is that of the mountains: soft meadows, wide open spaces, paths and a panorama that immediately opens up, as if to greet those who reach the top.
From the summit, the gaze embraces a horizon that unites mountains and hills: the majestic profile of Mount Alben, the wooded ridges sloping down toward the Brembana Valley, the distances that fade to the Bergamo plain, and, on clearer days, the more distant silhouettes of the Grigne and Resegone.
The gentleness of the slopes, the ease of the trails and the presence of wide meadows make it perfect even for children and less experienced people. But that is not to say it lacks charm: each season dresses it in different colors, from the bright green of spring to the golden hues of autumn, turning it into a small natural theater that is always new.
Going up to Vetta Poieto means choosing the mountain that welcomes and relaxes, that gives sincere views and light sensations. A small peak with a big heart, a stone's throw from Val Brembana and capable of making you love it at first sight.
The mountain is also accessible in winter, but only to experienced hikers with appropriate equipment; during the winter season it is also advisable to contact the huts in advance to check if they are open.
