The Rasega in Valleve represents a place to discover local history, told through the tools of working life in the past.
In the past, the structure first housed a mill and later a sawmill, called rasega in Bergamo dialect. This is where this place gets its name, where, thanks to the work of many volunteers and local people who have made available their ancient tools, expertise and time, it is still possible today to immerse oneself in past life and savor its various facets.
Today, within the rooms once used for work, thematic rooms have been reconstructed to house numerous historical artifacts: ranging from farming to mountain pasturing, from mining dark gray Porphyroid (Slate) to cobbling, from carpentry to homemaking.
The most valuable jewels are two in particular: the ancient turbine that was used to generate electricity that energized the entire settlement until the 1970s, and the Rasega, or saw, which is still fully functional today, as can be seen in the video.
Mrs. Franca will be happy to accompany you to discover this place of great historical and cultural value.
