Refuge Hut 2000

The refuge is located at 1969 meters above sea level, on the southern slope of Pizzo Arera, in the municipality of Oltre il Colle. It can be reached from Zambla alta by car up to the Plassa locality in the winter months and, with the new road, up to an altitude of 1,600 in the summer months, where you can conveniently park in a large square under the old ski lifts. From here you can take CAI Path 221, which leads to the hut in less than an hour, or follow the driveway, which, with a wider loop, climbs more gently toward Pian Cansaccio Alpe Arera. Its sunny and scenic location makes it a prime destination for excursions of mountaineering and nature interest in all seasons. The ’Flower Trail“ is an easy loop nature hike that offers visitors, in the spring and summer months, an innumerable variety of endemic flowers, some of which are also rare.
