The Church of Saints Bartholomew and Bernardino is the parish church of Ubiale Clanezzo and its origins date back to 1360, when it appears in the Nota ecclesiarum of the Visconti as a building subject to tributes. Visited by St. Charles Borromeo in 1575, it was then a simple subsidiary church.
The building was completely rebuilt in 1738 and was given the title of parish in 1775, after its detachment from Sedrina. In 1900 it was consecrated by Bishop Guindani, who also dedicated it to St. Bernardine and sealed relics of local saints in the high altar. In the 20th century, interior decorations were added and the bell tower with the characteristic “onion” was erected.
Since 1979 the parish has belonged to the vicariate of Brembilla-Zogno. The church has a tripartite facade with pilasters and tympanum, preceded by a wide churchyard. The interior, divided into three naves, leads to a rectangular cup-vaulted presbytery and preserves an important Sacra Conversazione by Vincenzo Angelo Orelli. Free tours, open daily.
