In the parish church you can see a painting by Carlo Ceresa (famous painter from San Giovanni Bianco) Baptism of Christ - Oil on canvas, 125×90 cm. From the Internet: “Tired and stiffened version of the Baptism of Villa d'Adda,” says Vertova. In the painting, the light highlights the Dove of the Holy Spirit, Jesus about to receive the Baptism from John the Baptist who does not hold up the cross with his hand but seems to have driven it into the ground behind him.
Bell Tower Clock The church bell tower is of red porphyry stone and dates from 1795. The Castiglioni mechanical clock dates from 1938 with framing still in wood and bells jammed with the ancient system. It is one of the last bell towers with a fully manual clock, making it absolutely unique in Lombardy in historical and artistic value. Described by Luca Fiocchi, a member of the technical committee for bells of the Bishop's Curia, as a real living museum. Perfectly functioning, it has been restored to preserve a small heritage to be preserved for the future of our country.
Gerolamo Calvi and the Bossi organ in Piazzolo (excerpted from Quaderni Brembani 9 of the Roberto Boffelli Brembana Valley Historical Cultural Center)
Among the documents recently unearthed is correspondence between Gerolamo Calvi and Adeodato Bossi, who was commissioned by the fabbriceria of Piazzolo to execute the organ for the parish church. A first project, which bears the date Feb. 12, 1840, is drawn up on letterhead: Pellegrino, Girolamo and Adeodato quondam Carlo Fabbricatori d'organi e Fratello prete Giuseppe - Abitanti nella regia Città di Bergamo nella contrada di Borgo Canale al civico n. 20.
At the bottom are some indications of Girolamo Calvi with the date June 2, 1844. Of his involvement in the commission for the construction of the Piazzolo organ is evidenced by another document, “Modula del progetto del organo di Piazzolo pel Signor Maestro Girolamo Calvi.“ It bears the date June 18, 1844; and in addition to more details on the construction, finishing and delivery, it also includes a sketch of the case with its measurements and there is a quantification of the new cost at 4,000 Austrian liras. Calvi's judgment also seems decisive in a sentence quoted before Adeodato Bossi's signature. The construction of the organ took place in 1845.
