Mount Sodadura is one of those peaks that rise above the gentle pastures of the Piani di Artavaggio. In contrast to its soft surroundings, Sodadura has a definite character: an elegant, almost perfect pyramid that emerges like a rocky beacon in the heart of the Orobic Pre-Alps. It is a mountain that fascinates without intimidating, inviting those who observe it to reach its summit to discover what lies beyond that harmonious profile.
The climb, when approached from the Artavaggio side, alternates gentle stretches with steeper passages, without ever becoming technical. The closer you get, the more the mountain reveals its rocky character, offering a fun and never monotonous progression, made impressive by the view that widens step by step.
From the summit, the view is one of the most complete and surprising in the area: the Val Brembana opens up to the north in all its extension, framed by the peaks of Ponteranica, Grignone and Resegone; to the south, the lines of the plain are lost in the horizon, while to the east the Orobie show their jagged profile. It is a view that amply repays all effort, especially on clear days when the light precisely draws each ridge.
The mountain is also accessible in winter, but only to experienced hikers with appropriate equipment; during the winter season it is also advisable to contact the huts in advance to check if they are open.
