Serina was the capital of the Upper Brembana Valley, the seat of the Venetian Vicariate, and was the administrative, economic and cultural reference point for the entire territory. Important evidence of this period has remained, visible in the urban fabric and in the stately buildings of the wide and severe stone arches overlooking the narrow streets of the contrada Mezzacà, the ancient center of the town. The walls of the ancient palaces preserve valuable historical references such as the fresco with the lion of St. Mark placed on the Vicar's house. A 15th-century building, now modified from the original architectural lines. Windows with stone arches, protected by ancient grilles, austere inner halls that hosted meetings, audience hall decorated with the coats of arms and names of the different vicars who succeeded each other over the centuries.
