Between 1907 and 1908 the Orobia power plant was erected to supply some Brembian and Lecco companies with 3,000 horsepower, generated by a 16-meter water jump from the San Giovanni Bianco canal. They served precisely a 4-kilometer canal, 2.5 of which were in tunnels, with the water flow rate of 10 square meters per second. Another important building work, unrelated to tourism or thermalism and yet elegant in form in perfect harmony with the Art Nouveau style, was the water bottling factory, commissioned in 1905 and equipped with semi-automatic machinery to replace the previous manual work, still employing about sixty employees. Since the 1960s, the water from the spring has been made to flow to the beginning of the village, where the current factory stands; in the early 2000s the old production complex was permanently dismantled to make way for the new tourist/thermal revitalization project.
