Village Sussia

Sussia, a small mountain hamlet located at an altitude of 1,000 meters, can be reached by taking, in about an hour, a dirt road that follows the route of the former mule track, starting from the Vetta locality. Nestled among green pastures and thick woods on an undulating plateau, the small village, rich in history, enjoys an enviable location.
On reaching the summit, continue along the agro-silvo-pastoral road to Sussia. On the way you meet the Tribulina Madrera, dedicated to Our Lady of Grace.
The road enters the woods until it reaches a fork in the road, where the Tribulina Pappina was once located.Taking the right, you reach Sussia Bassa, with the villages of Garbiöla, Brèn and Ca’ Sott, where there are some renovated farmhouses, suitable for spending the weekend surrounded by greenery and silence.
Arriving at the ‘Pòssa’ and ‘Forcellina’, from the watershed there is a beautiful view: to the north the Valle dei Ronchi descends and joins the Valle Garbiöla, and below, to the south, the Foppa di Sussia farmstead can be seen with cultivated fields around it. Finally, a last tear leads us to the small church of San Michele.
The Friends of Sussia Association is committed to restoring and preserving the village. It organizes events to keep interest in the locality alive.
