The Fondi area was once called the Forges because there were forges, mills, furnaces and follies (where wool was pounded) here on the banks of the river, which time has decayed and the river has swept away, such as the ancient Fondi bridge that was destroyed in the July 18, 1987 flood.
Beyond the new Fondi bridge we can see the ruins of the old mill, but above all the Cappelletta dei Morti dei Fondi, which recalls in the frescoes on the walls the burial of the dead from the cyclical plagues. From the Fondi goes up the path to the hamlet of Stralenna and up to the medieval high road that came from Camerata Cornello.
Today the area is an organized green space equipped for rest and relaxation next to the Brembo River and the old grandparent's pool in the summer months.
