Crag Monte Corno

To reach the Monte Corno cliff located in Val Brembilla, it is necessary to take trail 596 in the direction of Monte Corno - Castello Regina, starting from the small square in Cavaglia. Small aluminum plaques depicting a Red Lizard have been installed along the trail, useful for orientation and easy following of the itinerary. When you reach the junction for the equipped ferrata path, continue keeping to the right, along the “normal” route. In about 30 minutes of walking you reach the base of Mount Còren, where you can still notice the characteristic terracing at the foot of the wall. The crag was identified in the late 1980s, when Paolo Gervasoni, together with some companions, traced and bolted the first routes of the sector now known as the Sun Sector. This first sector includes about fifteen pitches and is characterized by an overhanging wall in limestone rock, full of small holes, notches and technical holds. Difficulties range from 6a to 8a, making the climbing particularly technical and suitable for climbers with good experience. In addition to the sporting interest, the area also offers a striking natural environment, with panoramic views of the Brembana Valley and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for spending a day outdoors surrounded by nature.
