Natural cave located along the trail leading to Pizzo Cerro, reached by a pleasant walk of about 20 minutes from Catremerio.
The entrance is located at an elevation of 1,150 meters and introduces a hypogeous system with a total depth of 125 meters, divided into a first vertical shaft of 25 meters, followed by additional internal shafts of 40 and 17 meters. The total development of the cave is about 140 meters. The cavity presents itself to the visitor in a picturesque setting, set among green and wide highland meadows that anticipate its charm.
The opening directly overlooks the top of a large shaft with vertical walls, a true gateway to the underground world. From the bottom of this initial environment two galleries branch off, leading to subsequent shafts and new environments rich in natural forms and play. The interior of the cave is embellished with numerous concretions: long stalactites hanging from the ceiling, columns shaped by the slow workings of water, and small niches adorned with groups of stalactites and stalagmites. The walls tell the thousand-year history of karstification, drawing scenery reminiscent of petrified fountains and striking natural architecture.
An ideal place for caving enthusiasts and those who wish to discover the hidden magic of the underground world.
