Lake Cassiglio, located at 870 meters above sea level in the municipality of the same name in the Brembana Valley, is a tranquil alpine lake surrounded by nature in the Orobian Pre-Alps. It is an artificial reservoir, formed by a dam built on the Stabino stream for hydroelectric purposes. Surrounded by forests, meadows and mountains, the lake is an ideal destination for walks, picnics and moments of relaxation, with a landscape that changes face with each season, from green summer to warm autumn colors.
Cassiglio is one of the smallest villages in the valley, characterized by old stone houses and an authentic atmosphere. Its very little notoriety makes it a hidden gem, perfect for those seeking tranquility. A new footbridge allows you to admire the lake from a privileged position, offering striking and very photographic views.
Paid parking is available near the lake (2€ for motorcycles, 3€ for cars, 6€ for campers). From Bergamo it is easily reached by driving along SP470 to Olmo al Brembo and then continuing to Cassiglio, with the lake located within walking distance of the town center.
