The museum dedicated to the famous Baroque painter Carlo Ceresa, who was born in San Giovanni Bianco, is located inside his family home, a place charged with history and artistic memory. On the upper floor is the main exhibition area, entirely reserved for the presentation of his works and also often used for impromptu exhibitions, which enrich the museum's cultural programming.
This space represents the ideal starting point for exploring the ’Ceresian itinerary,“ an itinerary that invites visitors to discover sixteen canvases by the artist distributed in eight churches in the municipal area. The itinerary allows visitors to immerse themselves in Baroque atmospheres and gain a deeper understanding of the stylistic evolution of Ceresa, who is recognized as one of the most relevant figures in 17th-century Bergamasque painting. Today there are more than 300 works attributed to Carlo Ceresa in the Bergamo area, preserved in churches, museums and private collections, evidence of the vast success and diffusion of his art.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions, lectures and cultural events are organized in the birth house, making the museum a lively center for the study and appreciation of the figure of the Sangiovannese artist.
