Bortolo Belotti is considered the most important figure of the 20th century in the Brembana Valley: a politician, historian, poet and jurist, he left a deep imprint on the culture and institutional life of the area. The villa, now enhanced as a place of remembrance, was once the home where Belotti spent weekends and vacation periods, surrounded by a serene environment that fostered study and inspiration.
The building's main floor houses the picture gallery, which preserves twenty-six valuable works of art including paintings - including two important works by the Baschenis - and sculptures. These are works that belonged to Bortolo Belotti himself and were later granted to the Municipality of Zogno by his nephew, lawyer Gianluca La Villa, testifying to the desire to preserve and share the family's cultural heritage.
Of the ancient use of the house remains perfectly recognizable the private study, furnished with original furniture and today the custodian of the entire Belottian archive, a valuable resource for scholars, researchers and local history enthusiasts. Particular importance, in the villa's recovery project, was also given to the surrounding park, a valuable green space where eleven busts and statues dedicated to great Brembian personalities still stand out. This set of elements contributes to making the villa not only a museum, but a true cultural center capable of recounting the life, passions and legacy of one of the most illustrious protagonists of the Brembana Valley.
