The House of the Calvi Brothers is located in the heart of Piazza Brembana, along the old route of the Strada Priula (1593), now Via Fratelli Calvi: here a communal room on the second floor preserves photographs, letters and documents that tell the story of the four brothers-N Natale, Attilio, Santino and Giannino-who fell between World War I and immediately after the war.
Since 2015, the path has been part of the ’Fratelli Calvi Ecomuseum“: outdoors, along Fratelli Calvi Street and San Bernardo Street, a series of iron stelae with images and reproductions of original maps guide the open-air visit, transforming the walk through the historic center into a memory itinerary that is also accessible to families.
For those who wish to delve deeper into the human and historical story, the biographies of the brothers - Alpini officers born in Piazza Brembana, sons of Gerolamo Calvi (mayor of the town) and Clelia Pizzigoni, the “Mamma Calvi” - are documented in historical sources and also recalled by commemorative initiatives spread throughout the valley.
Visiting suggestion: start from the historic center (Casa Calvi) and follow the “F.lli Calvi Museum Route” along the Priula; signage on stelae marks the main stages and allows for independent enjoyment, with content suitable even for children.
