The Prealpi Orobiche Observatory, opened in 1999, is the first astronomical observatory in the province of Bergamo. It is a modern facility built entirely by CAB members who use it for research and scientific outreach. The observatory is located in Ganda di Aviatico (path to Mount Poieto) and is equipped with a 50-cm diameter Newton-Cassegrain telescope and a 20-cm diameter refractor. It is advisable to have flashlights and suitable clothing even on summer evenings, because part of the observing takes place outdoors anyway.
It is necessary to park cars and motorcycles before the path leading to the observatory (300 meters, uphill). In July and August, CAB organizes numerous evening and daytime appointments (the latter for Sun observation) according to the schedule above.
Admission is free and free and no reservation is needed.
