The Santa Maria Assunta Parish Church is located in the center of the village of Piazzolo and overlooks a pretty little square surrounded by old houses, with some frescoes. Dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, it is based on a building dating back to the 15th century. Among the paintings inside the church is a painting by imitator Carlo Ceresa depicting the Baptism of Christ. In the painting, the light highlights the dove of the Holy Spirit and Jesus about to receive the Baptism from John the Baptist, who does not hold the cross in his hand, but seems to have it stuck in the ground behind him.
