Cornacchie Gate Excursion

Between the purple of the verrucano and the blue of the sky, the green of the mountain pine and the beige of the sandstone: 11 blocks of rock stand like "ancient menhirs" to protect the place, revealing to hikers a striking panorama...

 

Where are we?

At one of the most striking and interesting sites in the Brembana Valley: the Porta delle Cornacchie, a few kilometers' walk from Roncobello.

This will be a loop, easy trek of about 8 km, with 350 m of d+, that will start from the center of the village and lead us to the Baresi Peak and then to discover a naturalistic site of great interest that has always fascinated scholars and fascinated fans of ancient civilizations, to the point of calling the Porta delle Cornacchie the orobic Stonehenge.

 

Meet at 9 a.m. at the Roncobello church parking lot. 

Packed lunch and return in the early afternoon.
