Casaro Herbs 2026
May 23-24, May 29-30-31, and June 1-2, 2026
Erbe del Casaro returns with its 16th edition in Alta Valle Brembana, featuring a rich program of over forty events spread throughout the area. The festival celebrates the connection between wild herbs, cheesemaking tradition, and mountain culture, offering experiences that combine nature, taste, and knowledge.
At the heart of the program are guided walks to discover wild herbs, accompanied by local experts. Excursions for adults, cooking workshops, and a walk dedicated to children are planned to introduce people of all ages to the valley's natural heritage.
The first weekend It opens with experiences that intertwine nature and culture: the dispersed concert along Strada Priula in Piazza Brembana transforms the historic center into a traveling musical route, while visits to the Cusio Mill and Pianetti Sawmill tell the story of the territory's production. Among the offerings is also a trek to Alpe Cantedoldo with a sunset concert and dinner at the refuge, followed by a night return under the Orobie sky. In Valtorta, the “Iron, Devil, and Cheese” day combines different traditions with visits, tastings, and stories related to local history.
The second weekend continues with events dedicated to taste and well-being, starting with the “Happy Casaro” aperitif at Segheria Pianetti. The “Herbs in a Bottle” and “Lunasol” workshops, on the other hand, explore the creative and natural uses of wild herbs, while the “Andar di Gusto” trail accompanies visitors along the ancient Via del Ferro with tastings and farm visits.
The concluding days of June 1st and 2nd are dedicated to the relationship between humans and the mountain landscape, with the walk “Among meadows and mountain pastures” alongside local producers and meetings that recount the role of alpine pastures and agriculture in shaping the territory.
The festival concludes with a celebration in the village of Ornica, featuring tastings, tours, and convivial moments. Throughout the period, the valley's farms remain open to visitors, while affiliated accommodations allow for a more relaxed and immersive experience.
Erbe del Casaro is an invitation to discover the mountains slowly, through their stories, their flavors, and the people who inhabit them.
