A valley you go up
The Brembana Valley extends north of Bergamo along the river Brembo all the way to the Orobie Group. It comprises a system of interwoven valleys that widen and narrow.
Count 37 municipalities, distributed in valley floor, slopes, middle valley and upper valley. It includes villages on the river, elevated villages and hamlets within walking distance. Along the main axis, side valleys such as Val Serina, Val Brembilla and Val Taleggio offer beech forests and pastures.

A land of passages
The Brembana Valley has developed as throughway between the plains and the Alps, linking Bergamo to the mountain passes to the north. Ancient roads such as the Via Mercatorum and the Priula Street testify to its role as a gateway.
In Middle Ages, merchants, coal miners and miners created paths and mule tracks. Later, factories, manufactures and spas sprang up. Each period has left visible traces: stone bridges, historic villages and repurposed buildings maintaining their original identity.
